Our Privacy Policy

Garden State Safety Council ("GSSC") recognizes that it is critical for individuals to be confident that their privacy is protected when they visit our website. GSSC is committed to protecting the privacy of its students and visitors to our Internet Defensive Driving Course (DDC). The information about you (the "USER") collected by GSSC is subject to this privacy policy. By disclosing personal information to GSSC, the USER agrees to the terms of this privacy policy.

Consistent with the provisions of the Internet Security and Privacy Act, the Freedom of Information Law, and the Personal Privacy Protection Law, this policy describes our privacy practices regarding information collected from the USERs of this website. This policy describes what information is collected and how that information is used. The GSSC privacy policy is outlined below.

Collection and Storage of Information: GSSC will collect certain personal information when the USER registers for the GSSC online course. For purposes of this policy, "personal information" means any information concerning a natural person which, because of name, number, symbol, mark, or other identifier, can be used to identify that natural person. We do not collect any personal information about you unless you provide that information voluntarily during registration, by sending an e-mail, by responding to a survey, or completing an on-line transaction.

Information Collected Automatically When You Register for our Online Course: When registering for our online course, we automatically collect and store information about you (the "USER"). The collected/stored information is as follows:

(i) First Name
(ii) Middle Name
(iii) Last Name
(iv) Street Address
(v) Address (including street address, city, state, and zip code)
(vi) Gender
(vii) Eye Color
(viii) Phone Number
(ix) Email Address
(x) Date of Birth
(xi) Driver's License Number

GSSC maintains this information in its customer database.

Use of This Information: This collected/stored information is used:

GSSC will not share the USER's personal information with parties not affiliated with or outside of its organization.

USER's Rights: The USER may review and approve the information collected upon registration in the GSSC customer database. Upon request, GSSC will remove that information from its customer database or edit personal information that the USER states is erroneous.

Information Security Policy: GSSC takes extensive precautions to ensure the security of the USER's information both online and offline.

Online: Private information entered by the USER in the GSSC registration process (i.e. driver’s license number, payment information) is encrypted and protected by a 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Certificate. On a secure page, the USER will see a lock icon in the Security Status bar of his/her web browser.

Offline: GSSC also protects the USER's private information offline. We limit access to personal information to GSSC employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to perform their administrative duties and/or to operate, develop or improve our services. Individuals who have access to this information follow appropriate procedures in connection with any disclosures of personal information and must comply with the GSSC privacy and security policies.

Appropriate security measures are taken to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data. The servers on which GSSC stores the USER's information are maintained in a fully secure and monitored facility.
